What is the formula for simple interest?
SI = (P x R x T) / 100, where P = principal, R = rate of interest per annum, and T = time in years.
What is the compound interest formula for amount compounded annually?
A = P(1 + R/100)^T, where A is the final amount; Compound Interest = A − P.
How do you calculate percentage profit?
Profit % = (Profit / Cost Price) x 100, where Profit = Selling Price − Cost Price. Profit/loss percentage is always calculated on the cost price.
What is the formula relating speed, distance, and time?
Speed = Distance / Time; therefore Distance = Speed x Time and Time = Distance / Speed.
How do you convert a speed from km/hr to m/s?
Multiply by 5/18. (To convert m/s to km/hr, multiply by 18/5.)
What is the formula for the average of n numbers?
Average = (Sum of all observations) / (Number of observations). Conversely, Sum = Average x Number of observations.
What is the LCM and what is the HCF of two numbers, and how do they relate to the numbers' product?
LCM is the smallest common multiple; HCF is the largest common factor. For two numbers, Product of the numbers = HCF x LCM.
In a ratio a:b, how do you find each share when a total quantity T is divided in that ratio?
First share = T x a/(a+b); second share = T x b/(a+b). Divide the total in proportion to the parts of the ratio.
What is Data Interpretation in quantitative reasoning?
The skill of reading, analysing, and drawing conclusions from data presented in tables, bar graphs, pie charts, line graphs, or other visual forms, often involving percentages, averages, and ratios.
In a pie chart, how many degrees represent 1% of the total?
3.6 degrees, because the whole circle (100%) equals 360 degrees, so 360/100 = 3.6 degrees per percent.
How do you calculate percentage change between an old value and a new value in data interpretation?
Percentage change = ((New value − Old value) / Old value) x 100. A positive result is an increase; a negative result is a decrease.
In the BODMAS rule, what is the correct order of operations?
Brackets, Of/Orders (powers and roots), Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction — performed in that sequence (division and multiplication left to right, then addition and subtraction left to right).
