Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By downloading, installing or using the Examius app, or by using examius.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you are under 18, you may only use Examius with the consent of a parent or guardian.

2. What Examius is

Examius is a study-planning tool. It provides exam syllabus outlines, progress tracking, flashcards, a study timer and optional leaderboards. It is a study aid. It is not an examining body, not an official publication of any examining body, and not a guarantee of any exam result.

3. Syllabus and flashcard content

Examius currently ships 675 exam syllabus outlines covering 75,145 topics, and 227,948 flashcards. These are compiled from publicly published syllabus documents and study material and are provided for convenience.

Always check the official syllabus published by your examining body. Syllabuses are revised, sometimes mid-cycle, and we cannot guarantee that every outline in the app matches the current official version, is complete, or is free of error. Flashcard answers are written for revision and may simplify. We are not responsible for exam outcomes.

Exam names, board names and qualification names belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively to identify the syllabus concerned. No affiliation with or endorsement by any examining body is claimed or implied.

4. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Examius for your own study. You may not: resell or redistribute the syllabus or flashcard content in bulk; scrape or systematically download the content; reverse-engineer the app except where that right cannot be excluded by law; or use Examius to build a competing dataset or service.

5. Accounts and acceptable use

An account is optional. If you create one, you are responsible for activity under it and for keeping your sign-in secure. Choose a username that is not offensive, impersonating, or misleading; we may reclaim or reset usernames that break this rule.

Do not manipulate leaderboards through automation, falsified study time, multiple accounts or exploiting bugs. We may reset statistics, remove leaderboard entries, or suspend accounts that do.

6. Purchases, subscriptions and refunds

Examius is free to download and use. Optional in-app purchases and subscriptions remove advertising and unlock additional features. All payments are processed by Apple or Google, and the price shown at purchase includes any applicable tax.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date through your App Store or Google Play account settings — we cannot cancel a store subscription on your behalf. Refunds are handled by the store you bought from under its refund policy. Statutory withdrawal and refund rights, including EU and UK consumer rights, are unaffected by this section.

7. Advertising

The free tier displays advertising supplied by third parties. We do not endorse advertised products and are not responsible for them. See the Privacy Policy for what advertising involves and how to limit personalisation.

8. Availability and changes

We may add, change or remove features, syllabuses and decks, and we may suspend the service for maintenance. We aim to give notice of significant changes but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Your on-device study data remains on your device regardless.

9. Our intellectual property

The Examius name, logo, app design, code, the structure and arrangement of the catalog, and the written flashcards are ours or our licensors'. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.

10. Disclaimers

Examius is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the content is accurate, complete or current.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for lost study time, missed deadlines or exam results, or for loss of data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Termination

You may stop using Examius at any time and delete your account from within the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms. Sections 3, 9, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Lahore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you use Examius as a consumer, this does not take away the protection given to you by the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live. Where that law grants you rights that cannot be waived by agreement — including the right to bring proceedings in your local courts — those rights continue to apply.

14. Apple and Google

These terms are between you and Examius, not with Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or for support of it, and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms with the right to enforce them against you.
