SBI Clerk Quantitative Aptitude Flashcards
50 question-and-answer cards covering Quantitative Aptitude as it is examined in SBI Clerk. 24 of them are printed below, taken from across the deck — no signup, no paywall on the preview.
24 sample cards from the Quantitative Aptitude deck
Sampled from the end of the deck, so these are different cards from the ones shown on the syllabus page.
How is CI computed when interest is compounded half-yearly?
A = P(1 + (R/2)/100)^(2T) — rate halved and time doubled.
What is the core formula relating Time and Work efficiency?
Work = Rate × Time; if a person does a job in n days, one day's work = 1/n; combined rate = sum of individual rates.
If A does a job in 'a' days and B in 'b' days, how long together?
Time together = (a × b)/(a + b) days.
In Time and Work, how does the LCM (units) method work?
Take total work = LCM of given days; each worker's daily output = total work / their days; add outputs to get combined rate.
What is the basic relationship in Time, Speed and Distance?
Distance = Speed × Time; Speed = Distance/Time; Time = Distance/Speed.
How do you convert km/hr to m/s and vice versa?
km/hr to m/s: multiply by 5/18; m/s to km/hr: multiply by 18/5.
What is relative speed for two objects moving in the same vs opposite directions?
Same direction: difference of speeds; opposite directions: sum of speeds.
How long does a train of length L take to cross a platform of length P?
Time = (L + P) / speed of train.
What is the formula for average speed when equal distances are covered at speeds x and y?
Average speed = 2xy/(x + y) (harmonic mean).
What does a:b :: c:d (proportion) imply about cross products?
a/b = c/d, so a × d = b × c (product of extremes = product of means).
How do you divide an amount in the ratio a:b:c?
Each share = (its part / sum of parts) × total amount, where sum of parts = a + b + c.
What is mean proportional (geometric mean) between a and b?
√(ab) — the value x such that a:x = x:b.
In Partnership, how is profit shared when capitals and time differ?
Profit is divided in the ratio of each partner's (capital × time invested).
What is the difference between a sleeping/dormant partner and an active partner?
An active partner manages the business; a sleeping partner only invests capital and shares profit but does not participate in management.
What is the formula for the Average of n numbers?
Average = (Sum of all observations) / (Number of observations).
If the average of n numbers is A and a new number x is added, what is the new average?
New average = (nA + x)/(n + 1).
What is the average of the first n natural numbers?
(n + 1)/2.
What is the Rule of Alligation used for?
To find the ratio in which two ingredients/quantities at different prices (or concentrations) must be mixed to get a desired mean value.
State the alligation ratio formula for mixing cheaper and dearer items.
Cheaper quantity : Dearer quantity = (Dearer price − Mean) : (Mean − Cheaper price).
In repeated replacement, if a vessel has Q litres and x litres are replaced n times, what fraction of original liquid remains?
Remaining = Q × (1 − x/Q)^n.
What is the formula for the area and perimeter of a rectangle?
Area = length × breadth; Perimeter = 2 × (length + breadth).
What are the area and circumference formulas for a circle?
Area = πr²; Circumference = 2πr, where r is the radius.
What is the volume and total surface area of a cylinder?
Volume = πr²h; Total surface area = 2πr(r + h).
What is the area of a triangle given base and height, and the area of an equilateral triangle of side a?
Area = ½ × base × height; equilateral triangle area = (√3/4) × a².
What this deck covers
The Quantitative Aptitude deck follows the SBI Clerk Quantitative Aptitude syllabus — 5 chapters and 19 topics — so questions land on material that is genuinely examinable rather than trivia around it. That works out to roughly 10.0 cards per chapter.
Answers are written to be recallable, not just readable — averaging about 67 characters, which is long enough to carry the reasoning and short enough to say out loud.
A deck like this earns its keep on the second and third pass. Read the syllabus first so you know the shape of the subject, then use the cards to find the specific facts that have not stuck.
