Army Clerk Test Intelligence Test Flashcards
50 question-and-answer cards covering Intelligence Test as it is examined in Army Clerk Test. 24 of them are printed below, taken from across the deck — no signup, no paywall on the preview.
24 sample cards from the Intelligence Test deck
Sampled from the end of the deck, so these are different cards from the ones shown on the syllabus page.
In direction problems, how do you find the shortest (straight-line) distance between start and end points of perpendicular paths?
Use the Pythagoras theorem: distance = square root of (a² + b²), where a and b are the two perpendicular path lengths.
At sunrise, your shadow falls in which direction, and why?
Towards the West, because the sun rises in the East and the shadow forms opposite to the sun.
What is a Figure Series (non-verbal series) problem?
A sequence of figures that change according to a hidden rule; you must identify the next figure that continues the pattern.
What kinds of changes commonly form the rule in a Figure Series?
Rotation, increase/decrease in number of elements, change in shading/shape, movement of elements, and addition/removal of lines.
What is a Figure Analogy problem?
A non-verbal analogy where the first figure relates to the second by some rule, and you must apply the same rule to a third figure to find the fourth.
In Figure Analogy, if the first figure rotates 90 degrees clockwise to become the second, what must you do to the third figure?
Rotate the third figure 90 degrees clockwise in the same way to get the answer.
What is a Mirror Image?
The image of an object as seen in a mirror, where the left and right sides are reversed (laterally inverted) while top and bottom stay the same.
In a mirror image, which sides get interchanged?
The left and right sides are interchanged (lateral inversion); top and bottom remain unchanged.
What is a Water Image (reflection)?
The image of an object as seen reflected in water, where the top and bottom are inverted (vertical inversion) while left and right stay the same.
What is the key difference between a mirror image and a water image?
Mirror image reverses left-right (lateral); water image reverses top-bottom (vertical).
Which capital letters look the SAME as their mirror image?
Letters symmetric about a vertical axis: A, H, I, M, O, T, U, V, W, X, Y.
Which capital letters look the SAME as their water image?
Letters symmetric about a horizontal axis: B, C, D, E, H, I, K, O, X.
In a mirror image, what does the digit/word order do?
The order of letters/digits reverses left-to-right; the last character appears first in the mirror.
What is a Pattern Completion problem?
A figure has a missing piece, and you must choose the option that correctly completes the overall pattern or design.
What is the key to solving Pattern Completion questions?
Observe the symmetry, continuity of lines, and repeating design of the figure so the chosen piece matches the surrounding pattern.
What is an Embedded Figure problem?
A simple figure is hidden inside a larger complex figure, and you must find the option in which the given simple figure is completely contained without rotation or distortion.
In Embedded Figures, may the hidden figure be rotated or resized?
No — the simple figure must appear in the same shape, size, and orientation embedded within the complex figure.
What is a Number Series problem?
A sequence of numbers arranged by a rule; you must find the missing or next number by identifying the pattern.
Find the next number: 2, 4, 6, 8, ?
10 — the series increases by adding 2 each time (consecutive even numbers).
Find the next number: 1, 4, 9, 16, ?
25 — these are perfect squares (1², 2², 3², 4², 5²).
Find the next number: 2, 6, 18, 54, ?
162 — each term is multiplied by 3 (geometric series, ratio 3).
Find the next number: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, ?
13 — Fibonacci series; each term is the sum of the two previous terms (5 + 8 = 13).
What is a Letter Series problem?
A sequence of letters following an alphabetical pattern; you must identify the next letter(s) based on the gap/rule between letters.
Find the next letter: A, C, E, G, ?
I — the series skips one letter each time (gap of +2 in the alphabet).
What this deck covers
The Intelligence Test deck follows the Army Clerk Test Intelligence Test syllabus — 5 chapters and 20 topics — so questions land on material that is genuinely examinable rather than trivia around it. That works out to roughly 10.0 cards per chapter.
Answers are written to be recallable, not just readable — averaging about 105 characters, which is long enough to carry the reasoning and short enough to say out loud.
A deck like this earns its keep on the second and third pass. Read the syllabus first so you know the shape of the subject, then use the cards to find the specific facts that have not stuck.
Intelligence Test flashcards FAQ
How many Intelligence Test flashcards are in this Army Clerk Test deck?
50 cards. This page previews 24 of them, sampled evenly across the deck so you can judge the difficulty before installing anything.
Are these Army Clerk Test flashcards free?
Yes. The preview here is free to read with no signup, and the full 50-card deck is free inside the Examius app.
What do the Intelligence Test cards cover?
They follow the Army Clerk Test Intelligence Test syllabus — 5 chapters and 20 topics — so the questions track what is actually examinable.
How should I use these flashcards?
Read the syllabus first so you know the shape of the subject, then drill the deck. Examius schedules each card with spaced repetition, so cards you keep missing come back sooner and ones you know drift further apart.
