1. In analogy questions, what is the essential first step before choosing the answer?

   Identify the exact relationship between the first pair of words/numbers/figures, then apply that same relationship to find the missing term in the second pair.

2. What is the difference between an 'Analogy' question and a 'Classification (Odd One Out)' question?

   Analogy asks you to find a term sharing the SAME relationship as a given pair; Classification asks you to find the ODD term that does NOT share the common property of the group.

3. Complete the analogy: Doctor : Hospital :: Teacher : ?

   School — the relationship is 'professional : usual place of work'.

4. In number analogy, if 7 : 49, what is the relation, and what completes 9 : ?

   The relation is 'number : its square', so 9 : 81.

5. What common method finds the odd one out in a Classification set of numbers?

   Check for a shared property (all primes, all perfect squares, all even, all multiples of a number, etc.); the number lacking that property is the odd one.

6. What is an arithmetic series and how is it identified?

   A series where each term increases or decreases by a constant difference (common difference); identify it by checking that consecutive differences are equal.

7. What is a geometric series and its identifying feature?

   A series where each term is obtained by multiplying the previous term by a constant ratio (common ratio); consecutive terms have an equal ratio.

8. Find the next term: 2, 6, 12, 20, 30, ?

   42 — differences are 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 (increasing by 2), so 30 + 12 = 42. (Pattern: n(n+1).)

9. What is letter coding (Coding-Decoding) based on, and what is the simplest type?

   It is based on substituting letters/numbers using a fixed rule; the simplest type is 'letter-shifting', where each letter is moved a fixed number of places forward or backward in the alphabet.

10. If in a code CAT is written as DBU, what is the rule and how is DOG coded?

    Rule: each letter moves +1 forward (C→D, A→B, T→U). So DOG → EPH.

11. What is the position-value (number) of the letters A, M, and Z in the alphabet?

    A = 1, M = 13, Z = 26.

12. What is the reverse (opposite) position of a letter found by, e.g., the opposite of D?

    Subtract the position from 27: opposite of D (4) = 27 − 4 = 23 = W. (EJOTY/AZ pairing rule.)

13. What does the mnemonic 'EJOTY' help you recall?

    The positions of evenly spaced letters: E=5, J=10, O=15, T=20, Y=25 — used to quickly count alphabet positions.

14. In Blood Relations, who is 'my father's only son'?

    Myself (the speaker), assuming the speaker is male.

15. Define maternal vs paternal relations in blood relation problems.

    Maternal relations are those on the mother's side (maternal uncle = mother's brother); paternal relations are on the father's side (paternal uncle = father's brother).

16. How is the relation 'my mother's brother's wife' described?

    She is the speaker's maternal aunt (mami) — the wife of the maternal uncle.

17. In Direction Sense, what are the four cardinal and four ordinal directions?

    Cardinal: North, South, East, West. Ordinal (intercardinal): North-East, North-West, South-East, South-West.

18. If you face North and turn 90° clockwise, which direction do you face? And anticlockwise?

    Clockwise 90° → East; Anticlockwise 90° → West.
