  2. In dental nomenclature, define the terms mesial and distal.

    Mesial is the surface of a tooth directed toward the midline of the dental arch (toward the median line), while distal is the surface directed away from the midline (toward the posterior). They are opposite proximal surfaces along the arch.

  3. Define the terms buccal, labial, and lingual/palatal tooth surfaces.
