1. What does Tauheed mean in Islam?

   Tauheed is the belief in the absolute Oneness of Allah — that He is the only God, has no partner, no equal, and no one shares in His divinity, worship, or attributes.

   Tauheed-e-Rububiyyah (Oneness of Lordship/Creation), Tauheed-e-Uluhiyyah (Oneness of Worship), and Tauheed-e-Asma-was-Sifat (Oneness of His Names and Attributes).

3. Which Surah of the Quran is considered the essence/declaration of Tauheed?

   Surah Al-Ikhlas (Surah 112), which describes Allah as One, Eternal, who neither begets nor is begotten, and has no equal.

   Shirk — associating partners with Allah. It is the gravest (unforgivable, if unrepented) sin because it denies the Oneness of Allah.

6. Who is the first Prophet and who is the last Prophet in Islam?

   The first Prophet is Hazrat Adam (AS) and the last Prophet (Khatam-un-Nabiyyin) is Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

7. What does 'Khatam-un-Nabiyyin' mean?

   It means 'the Seal of the Prophets,' a title of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), signifying that he is the final Prophet and no Prophet will come after him.

8. What is the difference between a Nabi and a Rasul?

   A Nabi (Prophet) receives revelation from Allah, while a Rasul (Messenger) is a Prophet who is also given a new code of law (Shariah) or Book to convey to a people.

9. How many Prophets are traditionally said to have been sent by Allah?

   It is traditionally narrated that Allah sent about 124,000 Prophets, of whom 25 are named in the Holy Quran.

10. What is Iman-e-Mufassal (the detailed declaration of faith)?

    Iman-e-Mufassal is belief in detail in seven articles: Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, predestination (good and bad from Allah), and life after death.

11. List the seven articles of faith in Iman-e-Mufassal.

    Belief in: (1) Allah, (2) His Angels, (3) His Books, (4) His Messengers, (5) the Day of Judgment, (6) Taqdeer (Divine Decree, good and bad from Allah), and (7) life after death (resurrection).
