SBI PO / Clerk Quantitative Aptitude Flashcards
50 question-and-answer cards covering Quantitative Aptitude as it is examined in SBI PO / Clerk. 24 of them are printed below, taken from across the deck — no signup, no paywall on the preview.
24 sample cards from the Quantitative Aptitude deck
Sampled from the end of the deck, so these are different cards from the ones shown on the syllabus page.
A vessel has 40 L of pure milk; 8 L is removed and replaced with water once. How much pure milk remains?
32 L (40 x (1 - 8/40) = 40 x 0.8 = 32 L).
What is the formula relating speed, distance, and time?
Speed = Distance / Time.
How do you convert a speed from km/h to m/s?
Multiply by 5/18.
If two trains move in opposite directions, how is their relative speed calculated?
By adding their individual speeds.
If A can do a job in 10 days and B in 15 days, in how many days do they finish working together?
6 days (combined rate = 1/10 + 1/15 = 1/6).
What is the quadratic formula for solving ax^2 + bx + c = 0?
x = [-b plus/minus sqrt(b^2 - 4ac)] / (2a).
For a quadratic ax^2 + bx + c = 0, what are the sum and product of the roots?
Sum of roots = -b/a; Product of roots = c/a.
What does the discriminant b^2 - 4ac indicate about quadratic roots?
If > 0 roots are real and distinct; if = 0 roots are real and equal; if < 0 roots are complex/imaginary.
What is the algebraic identity for (a + b)^2?
(a + b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2.
What is the identity for a^3 + b^3?
a^3 + b^3 = (a + b)(a^2 - ab + b^2).
What is the formula for the area of a circle and its circumference?
Area = pi x r^2; Circumference = 2 x pi x r.
What is the formula for the area of a triangle given base and height?
Area = (1/2) x base x height.
What is the formula for the volume and total surface area of a cube of side a?
Volume = a^3; Total Surface Area = 6a^2.
What is the formula for the volume of a cylinder?
Volume = pi x r^2 x h.
What is the formula for the curved (lateral) surface area of a sphere?
Surface area of a sphere = 4 x pi x r^2.
What is the formula for the number of permutations of n distinct items taken r at a time?
nPr = n! / (n - r)!.
What is the formula for combinations nCr?
nCr = n! / [r! x (n - r)!].
What is the basic definition of the probability of an event?
Probability = Number of favourable outcomes / Total number of possible outcomes.
In Data Interpretation, how do you calculate percentage change between two values?
Percentage change = [(New value - Old value) / Old value] x 100.
In a pie chart, how many degrees correspond to 1% of the total?
3.6 degrees (since 360 degrees / 100 = 3.6).
What is the goal of a Data Sufficiency question?
To determine whether the given statements provide enough information to answer the question — not to compute the final answer itself.
In the series 2, 6, 12, 20, 30, what is the pattern (find the next term)?
Differences increase by 2 (4, 6, 8, 10), so the next term is 42; the pattern is n(n+1).
In a wrong number series, what is the standard approach to identify the odd term?
Find the consistent pattern (differences, ratios, or operations) among most terms, then spot the single term that breaks it.
In the series 3, 6, 12, 24, 48, what is the next term and the rule?
The next term is 96; each term is multiplied by 2 (geometric progression with ratio 2).
What this deck covers
The Quantitative Aptitude deck follows the SBI PO / Clerk Quantitative Aptitude syllabus — 5 chapters and 25 topics — so questions land on material that is genuinely examinable rather than trivia around it. That works out to roughly 10.0 cards per chapter.
Answers are written to be recallable, not just readable — averaging about 52 characters, which is long enough to carry the reasoning and short enough to say out loud.
A deck like this earns its keep on the second and third pass. Read the syllabus first so you know the shape of the subject, then use the cards to find the specific facts that have not stuck.
