First read the whole passage to grasp the theme, then fill each blank considering grammar, collocation, and contextual coherence with surrounding sentences.
What does a Para Completion question require?
To choose the sentence that best completes a paragraph, maintaining its logic, tone, and flow, usually as a concluding or connecting statement.
What grammatical category are 'however', 'therefore', 'moreover', and 'nevertheless'? What is their function?
They are conjunctive adverbs / sentence connectors used to link ideas, showing contrast, cause-effect, addition, or concession between clauses or sentences.

'Nevertheless' shows contrast/concession; 'consequently' shows cause-effect (result).

What is a precis?
A precis is a concise, clear summary of a passage that captures its essential ideas in the writer's own words, typically about one-third the length of the original.
What length and tense conventions apply to a precis?
A precis is usually about one-third of the original length, written in the writer's own words, in the third person and past tense, and must include a suitable title.
What must a precis NOT contain?
It must not include personal opinions, new information, examples, illustrations, direct quotations, or repetition from the original passage.
What is the difference between summarizing and paraphrasing?
Summarizing condenses a text to its main points (much shorter); paraphrasing restates content in different words at roughly the same length while keeping all details.
What this deck covers
The English Language deck follows the LIC AAO English Language syllabus — 4 chapters and 15 topics — so questions land on material that is genuinely examinable rather than trivia around it. That works out to roughly 12.5 cards per chapter.
Answers are written to be recallable, not just readable — averaging about 122 characters, which is long enough to carry the reasoning and short enough to say out loud.
A deck like this earns its keep on the second and third pass. Read the syllabus first so you know the shape of the subject, then use the cards to find the specific facts that have not stuck.
