    A phrase is a group of related words lacking both a subject and a finite verb (e.g., 'under the table'). A clause contains a subject and a finite verb and may stand alone (independent) or not (dependent).

  2. What is the difference between an idiom and a literal phrase?

    A literal phrase means exactly what its words say. An idiom is a fixed expression whose figurative meaning cannot be deduced from the individual words (e.g., 'kick the bucket' = die).

  3. In reading comprehension, what is the difference between the 'main idea' and a 'supporting detail'?

    The main idea is the central point or overall message the author conveys. Supporting details are facts, examples, or reasons that explain, prove, or develop that main idea.

  4. What is an inference in reading comprehension?

    An inference is a logical conclusion the reader draws from evidence in the text combined with reasoning, rather than information stated explicitly.

    The opening sentence usually introduces the topic, contains a full noun (not a pronoun), and does not depend on a previous sentence — it has no backward-referring words like 'this', 'therefore', or 'however'.

  7. What is data interpretation in the aptitude context?

    Data interpretation is the skill of reading, analysing, and drawing conclusions from data presented in tables, graphs, or charts to answer quantitative questions (totals, ratios, percentages, trends).

  8. What does a bar graph display, and when is it most useful?

    A bar graph uses rectangular bars whose lengths/heights are proportional to the values they represent. It is best for comparing discrete categories or values across groups.

  9. What does a pie chart represent, and how many degrees equal the whole?

    A pie chart represents parts of a whole as sectors of a circle, where each sector's angle is proportional to its share. The whole circle is $360^{\circ}$, also equal to $100\%$.

  10. How do you convert a percentage share into the central angle of a pie chart sector?

    Multiply the fractional share by $360^{\circ}$. For a category that is $p\%$ of the total: $$\text{angle} = \frac{p}{100} \times 360^{\circ}.$$

  11. In a pie chart, a sector has a central angle of $90^{\circ}$. What percentage of the total does it represent?
