Joining items in a list that are not in the same grammatical form. Wrong: 'She likes reading and to write.' Right: 'She likes reading and writing.'

Two independent clauses joined only by a comma. Fix with a period, semicolon, or a comma plus a coordinating conjunction.

To join two closely related independent clauses without a conjunction, or to separate list items that already contain commas.
When is a colon (:) used?
To introduce a list, explanation, quotation, or example after a complete independent clause.

To show possession (e.g., 'John's book') or to mark omitted letters in contractions (e.g., 'don't').

Enclose the exact words in quotation marks, with a comma before the quote and the closing punctuation inside the quotation marks (e.g., He said, "I agree.").

The meaning, tone, register, and idiomatic sense — translating sense-for-sense, not merely word-for-word, in grammatically correct English.
When translating Urdu legal/formal text to English, what register should be used?
A formal register with correct legal/standard terminology, avoiding colloquial or literal renderings that distort meaning.

What this deck covers
The English deck follows the Civil Judge Examination English syllabus — 5 chapters and 14 topics — so questions land on material that is genuinely examinable rather than trivia around it. That works out to roughly 10.2 cards per chapter.
Answers are written to be recallable, not just readable — averaging about 105 characters, which is long enough to carry the reasoning and short enough to say out loud.
A deck like this earns its keep on the second and third pass. Read the syllabus first so you know the shape of the subject, then use the cards to find the specific facts that have not stuck.
