Rs.15. Cost = 5×12 = 60; Sale = 5×15 = 75; Profit = 75 − 60 = Rs.15.
What is the formula for average?
Average = (Sum of all values) ÷ (Number of values).
Arithmetic reasoning: The average of 4 numbers is 20. What is their total sum?
80. Sum = Average × Number of values = 20 × 4 = 80.
What is the formula for percentage of a quantity?
Percentage value = (Percent ÷ 100) × Total quantity (e.g., 20% of 150 = 0.20 × 150 = 30).
What is a logical number problem?
A problem where numbers are arranged in a logical pattern, grid, or relationship and you must deduce the missing or odd number using reasoning rather than a simple series rule.
Logical number problem: If 3 + 5 = 28, 6 + 2 = 48, what is 4 + 7?
121 written as 1121-style? Standard answer: (4+7)=11 and (4×7)... Actually using the rule (sum)(difference): 3+5→(8)(2)=82? The common rule here gives concatenation; one accepted answer pattern is 28 from (3+5=8, 3×... ). For (a+b): result = (a−b? ). Best-fit rule (a+b then a×b): 3+5: 8 & 15→ not 28. Use (a+b)|(a−b): 8|2=28? No. Accept: answer depends on stated rule.
What approach solves matrix/grid logical number problems?
Look for a consistent operation (add, subtract, multiply, or combine rows/columns) that links the surrounding numbers to the center or missing number, then apply it.
What is a figure series?
A sequence of figures that change according to a rule (rotation, addition/removal of elements, shading, or movement); you predict the next figure that continues the pattern.
What features should you track in a figure series problem?
Rotation (direction/angle), number of sides/lines/dots, shading or color, position/movement of elements, and addition or deletion of parts.
