Two numbers whose HCF is 1 (e.g., 8 and 15). They share no common factor other than 1.
State the divisibility rule for 11.
A number is divisible by 11 if the difference between the sum of digits at odd places and the sum of digits at even places is 0 or a multiple of 11.
What is the divisibility rule for 8?
A number is divisible by 8 if the number formed by its last three digits is divisible by 8.
Classify natural numbers by their factors into the three basic types.
Prime (exactly two factors: 1 and itself), Composite (more than two factors), and 1 (which is neither prime nor composite).
What is the unit digit of 7^any-power found by? Give the cyclicity of 7.
The unit digit of powers of 7 repeats in a cycle of 4: 7, 9, 3, 1. Use the power mod 4 to find it.

State the fundamental relation between HCF, LCM and two numbers.

How do you find the LCM of fractions?
LCM of fractions = LCM of numerators / HCF of denominators.
What is the least number that leaves the same remainder r when dividing by a, b, c?
It is (LCM of a, b, c) + r, for the smallest such number greater than the divisors.
State the BODMAS order of operations.
Brackets, Orders (powers/roots), Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction โ performed left to right within the same level.
In simplification, what does the word 'of' mean and what is its priority?
'Of' means multiplication and is performed before normal division/multiplication (treated with brackets/orders priority).
Define the average (arithmetic mean) of n quantities.
Average = (Sum of all observations) / (Number of observations).

(n + 1) / 2
Average of first n consecutive even numbers and first n consecutive odd numbers.
First n even numbers: n + 1. First n odd numbers: n.
If the average of n numbers is A and each number is increased by x, what is the new average?
The new average becomes A + x.
How does adding a new value affect average? Give the change formula.
If a new entry changes the count from n to n+1, the average changes; new average = (old sum + new value)/(n+1). A value above the old average raises it.
Define a ratio and what is meant by the 'antecedent' and 'consequent'.
A ratio a:b compares two quantities by division. 'a' (the first term) is the antecedent; 'b' (the second term) is the consequent.
What is the fourth proportional to a, b, c?
The number x such that a:b = c:x, giving x = (b x c)/a.
What is the third proportional to a and b?
The number x such that a:b = b:x, giving x = b^2 / a.
