It abolished the President's power to dissolve the National Assembly (repealing Article 58(2)(b)), devolved many subjects to the provinces by abolishing the Concurrent Legislative List, renamed NWFP as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and strengthened parliamentary democracy and provincial autonomy.
