    A syllogism is a form of deductive reasoning where a conclusion is drawn from two given premises. Its three parts are the major premise, the minor premise, and the conclusion.

  2. What do the syllogism quantifiers 'All', 'No', 'Some', and 'Some...not' represent (A, E, I, O propositions)?

    A = All (universal affirmative), E = No (universal negative), I = Some (particular affirmative), O = Some...not (particular negative).

  3. In syllogisms, which two universal statements, when combined, can give a definite conclusion, and which combination gives no conclusion?

    All + All gives a definite 'All' conclusion; All + No gives a 'No' conclusion. Two particular premises (Some + Some) give NO definite conclusion.

  4. What is the 'possibility' rule in syllogism for a definite negative statement?

    If a definite negative conclusion (No A is B) is established, then the possibility 'Some A are B' is false; but if no definite relation exists, a possibility case can be true.

  5. What is the complementary (either-or) pair rule in syllogisms?

    When two conclusions are individually false but together exhaust all possibilities (e.g., 'Some A are B' and 'No A is B' between the same terms), they form an Either-Or pair and the 'either-or' is valid.

    A strong argument is directly related to the question, important, and practical; a weak argument is irrelevant, trivial, ambiguous, or based on an individual example.

  10. In Cause and Effect reasoning, how do you identify which event is the cause and which is the effect?

    The cause is the event that occurs first and brings about the second; the effect is the result that follows. The cause precedes the effect in time and logically produces it.

  11. In letter coding-decoding, how do you decode a word shifted by +1 in the alphabet (e.g., 'CAT' coded as 'DBU')?

    Each letter moves forward by one position (C->D, A->B, T->U). To decode, shift each letter backward by the same number of positions.
