    An analogy is a relationship of similarity between two pairs of terms. The solver must identify the logical relationship in the given pair (e.g., cause-effect, part-whole, synonym, worker-tool) and apply the same relationship to find the missing term.

  2. What is the difference between "Analogy" and "Classification (Odd One Out)" type questions?

    In Analogy, you find a term sharing the same relationship as a given pair. In Classification, you identify the one item that does NOT share the common property/relationship that the rest of the group has.

  3. Name four common relationship types tested in analogy questions.

    Common types: synonym/antonym, cause and effect, part and whole, worker and tool/product, function, and category-member relationships.

  4. In number classification, why is 49 the odd one in {2, 3, 5, 7, 49}?

    2, 3, 5, 7 are all prime numbers, while 49 (= 7 x 7) is composite. The common property is primality, so 49 is the odd one out.

  5. In a letter series, what is the standard position number assigned to letters A through Z?

    A=1, B=2, C=3 ... Z=26. Reverse order (EJOTY/opposite): A=26, B=25 ... Z=1. Knowing positions lets you compute gaps between letters in a series.

  6. What is the EJOTY rule used for in alphabet-based reasoning?

    EJOTY gives quick reference positions: E=5, J=10, O=15, T=20, Y=25. It lets you locate any letter's position fast without counting from A.

  7. In Coding-Decoding, what is "letter-shift (Caesar) coding"?

    Each letter is replaced by a letter a fixed number of places forward or backward in the alphabet. E.g., +1 shift turns CAT into DBU. Decode by reversing the shift.

  8. How do you find the opposite (mirror) letter of any alphabet letter?

    A term is distributed when a statement refers to all members of that category. 'All A are B' distributes the subject (A). 'No A are B' distributes both A and B. 'Some A are not B' distributes the predicate (B).

  13. In syllogisms, can a valid conclusion be drawn from two particular premises (both starting with "Some")?

    No. From two particular premises ('Some...'), no definite conclusion can be drawn. At least one premise must be universal ('All' or 'No') for a valid conclusion.
