    NA = 6.022 x 10^23 particles per mole.

  3. How do you calculate the number of moles from a given mass?

    Number of moles = mass (g) / molar mass (g/mol).

  4. How do you find the number of particles given the number of moles?

    Number of particles = number of moles x 6.022 x 10^23.

  5. What volume does 1 mole of any ideal gas occupy at STP?

    22.4 dm^3 (22.4 liters) at STP (0 C, 1 atm).

  6. Define molar mass and give its units.

    Molar mass is the mass of one mole of a substance, numerically equal to its atomic/molecular mass, with units g/mol.

  7. What is a limiting reactant?

    The reactant that is completely consumed first in a reaction, thereby limiting the amount of product formed.

  8. How is percentage yield calculated?

    Percentage yield = (actual yield / theoretical yield) x 100.

  9. Distinguish between theoretical yield and actual yield.

    Theoretical yield is the maximum product calculated from stoichiometry; actual yield is the amount actually obtained experimentally, usually less.

  10. What are the steps to identify the limiting reactant in a reaction?

    Convert each reactant mass to moles, divide each by its stoichiometric coefficient, and the reactant with the smallest ratio is the limiting reactant.

  11. In stoichiometry, what does a balanced equation's coefficients represent?

    The mole ratio (and for gases, volume ratio) in which reactants combine and products form.

  12. State the formula relating moles, molarity, and volume of a solution.

    Moles = molarity (mol/dm^3) x volume (dm^3).

  13. What is the main postulate of Bohr's model regarding electron orbits?

  18. What are the two possible values of the spin quantum number (s)?

    +1/2 and -1/2, representing the two spin orientations of an electron.

  19. State the Pauli Exclusion Principle.

    No two electrons in an atom can have the same set of all four quantum numbers; an orbital holds a maximum of two electrons with opposite spins.

  20. State Hund's rule of maximum multiplicity.

    Electrons fill degenerate orbitals singly with parallel spins before pairing up.

  21. State the Aufbau principle.
