Under the Pakistan Penal Code, how is 'offence' defined in Section 40?
An 'offence' denotes a thing made punishable by the PPC, or by any special or local law where the act or omission is punishable under that law with imprisonment for six months or more.
What is the meaning of 'voluntarily' under Section 39 PPC?
A person causes an effect 'voluntarily' when he causes it by means whereby he intended to cause it, or by means which at the time of employing them he knew or had reason to believe to be likely to cause it.
How does Section 44 PPC define 'injury'?
'Injury' denotes any harm whatever illegally caused to any person, in body, mind, reputation or property.
What is the difference between 'wrongful gain' and 'wrongful loss' under Section 23 PPC?
'Wrongful gain' is gain by unlawful means of property to which the person gaining is not legally entitled; 'wrongful loss' is loss by unlawful means of property to which the person losing is legally entitled.
